I like to work with children to help them develop confidence. When I was a teenager, I volunteered to help special needs kids overcome their fear of water and swimming. Fast-forward some years, I now have grandkids. I left my IT job to spend more time with them. Over the past 10 years, I have worked with gifted and talented kids and kids who are at-risk, some with special needs and physical disabilities.

I have learned that children (and adults) are not machines; there is no magic solution to behavior problems. Each person is unique. Many of the people I work with resist the introduction of new people. I am good at building a connection. I consider myself to be a patient and easy-going person. I help children with their homework and other problems they might have. I work in Maryland and Virginia and provide services like behavior management and practical strategies for life transitions. I am also a sitter and can provide companionship.

I have a clean driver record and I am fully vaccinated. I am available on weekends and evenings, and you can find more information about me on my website at pestaner.com, and my LinkedIn profile at linkedin.com/in/pestaner. I am CPR, AED, and First Aid certified, and you can check my background on care.com.
