Chapter 2. The Vision
Summary
Maria, a nurse at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, leaves home where her stepmother Cristina takes care of her daughter Lakita during the day. Maria comes into the hospital and she is assigned Gwen in Room 326. During a review of patients with Sharon, the nurse being relieved, Maria meets Mike and Cresha. Mike prematurely asks permission for Ed to visit by sharing that he is the father of the baby. Mike sees a mark on Gwen that bothers him. Mike confronts Ed about pregnancy because he is not aware of a sexual relationship. Ed says that they didn?t know about pregnancy and they were planning to become partners. We are introduced to the polyamory relationships of Mike and Ed and their partners Cresha and Nikki.
