Polyamory is the practice of having multiple intimate consensual relationships. These relationships may be sexual or just romantic and involve the responsibilities of children, property, and cohabitation. The important aspect of these relationships is that they operate with the full knowledge and consent of all parties. Polygamy or marriage to multiple people is a different relationship structure and is not legal.  Polyamorous relationships require transparency and honesty.
