Chapter 5.?Babaylan??Ed takes Nikki to his house and Ed tries to make out but Nikki focuses him on what they are doing. She opens a bag with several items. She takes one of the items, a Puma statue, and a hole opens up in the wall. They walk into this tunnel to Peru. They find Menga?s place and his treasures. Ed takes pictures.? They head back but Nikki stops and puts a quick spell on Ed.? She returns alone.? We learn later that she finds one of the Chavis coins and uses some decoys and replaces them.
They meet at Mike?s place and Maria begins training them as Babaylan is capable of commanding spirits. Maria pulls Cresha aside and asks Cresha about Ed; he seems to have some problems and Maria thinks there are spirits at work against them.? Maria confesses to Cresha that Ed is someone they need as a spiritual warrior. Cresha hints that it may be that Maria is falling for Ed. Maria is embarrassed. Maria also thinks that Mike seems too far gone and won?t be a great asset and explains Victoria decided not to give him gifts a long time ago. Maria asks Cresha to join her and confront Ed that evening after training.
Nikki goes to a jewelry shop and works with an old friend who makes custom pieces. Nikki has the jewelry maker create a chain with a locket that holds two coins in a spiritual container that appears to be a cross so no one will recognize that these are the Chavis coins.
